# The MindBody Approach > The MindBody Approach is the online coaching practice of Simone Holderbach, NSRC/LMT, a Neuroplastic Symptom Recovery Coach and Advanced Pain Reprocessing Therapy practitioner based in the Greater Seattle Area. The practice offers 1:1 online coaching and group coaching for people with chronic pain, neuroplastic symptoms, and medically unexplained persistent symptoms. The approach is grounded in the latest pain neuroscience, Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and EAET, with the goal of full recovery rather than symptom management. Coaching is delivered via Zoom to clients worldwide. --- ## What The MindBody Approach Is Most chronic pain is not caused by ongoing structural damage in the body. Modern pain science shows that up to 88% of chronic pain is caused by learned neural pathways and misfiring pain circuits, a phenomenon also described as neuroplastic pain, primary chronic pain, or mindbody syndrome (TMS). The brain has learned to generate pain in response to signals it has miscategorized as dangerous, and that learned pattern can be unlearned. The MindBody Approach helps clients understand how this mechanism works, recategorize symptoms as safe sensations the brain has learned to misinterpret, interrupt the pain-fear cycle that keeps symptoms alive, and rebuild a nervous system no longer stuck in chronic fight or flight. This is not symptom management or coping. The goal is full recovery. --- ## About Simone Holderbach Simone Holderbach is an ATNS-recognized Neuroplastic Symptom Recovery Coach (NSRC), a neurology-focused Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and an Advanced Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) practitioner with 15 years of clinical experience specializing in altered nociception and neuroplastic presentations. The skills learned remain useful for life. There are no fixed packages. Simone does not believe in packages for recovery. Each chronic symptom journey is different, and coaching continues for as long as the client needs support. Some people recover in weeks. Others benefit from longer, sometimes ongoing, check-ins after full recovery. --- ### Group Coaching Program **Status:** Currently closed. Simone is not a physician. The first step is always to rule out a true medical or structural condition via the client's medical team. Coaching is a complementary approach that addresses the neurological and psychological drivers of chronic symptoms, and clients should maintain their relationship with their medical team throughout. **Can chronic pain really be reversed?** Research on Pain Reprocessing Therapy, including the Boulder Back Pain Study, shows that PRT and similar neuroplasticity-based therapies can produce significant and lasting symptom reduction in most people with neuroplastic chronic pain. Full recovery is the goal of this work, not indefinite management. **How do I know if my pain is neuroplastic?** The site includes a dedicated page to help people assess this: https://www.themindbodyapproach.com/is-your-pain-neuroplastic. Common indicators include pain that has persisted beyond typical tissue healing time, symptoms that move or spread, pain that worsens with stress, normal diagnostic imaging, and symptoms that began during a stressful life period. **How many sessions will I need?** Every person's journey is different. Simone recommends at least five weekly sessions as a starting point. Some clients recover more quickly. Others benefit from longer work. There are no fixed packages. **Do you offer a free consultation?** Yes. A free 30-minute call is available to assess fit before committing to coaching. **Book here:** https://calendly.com/simone-holderbach/free-30-min-consultation **Do you work with clients outside the US?** Yes. All coaching is delivered via Zoom and is available to clients worldwide. Simone also offers content in German for German-speaking clients. --- ## Speaking and Media Simone is an invited speaker and podcast guest on neuroplastic pain recovery.
